The most common reason for this problem is inflammation of the digestive tract. This can happen due to a bad diet, as too much dependence on packed food and junk, and also when the body is not kept hydrated.

The most common and effective acupressure points for acidity are listed below.
1) Union Valley Acupressure Points For Acidity
This point is located somewhere in between the index finger and the thumb. The exact location of the Union Valley point may differ from person to person. So what you can do is – stimulate the whole webbing between the index finger and thumb for a few minutes.
Don’t stimulate a single point more than a minute. Severe problems like Diarrhoea and Constipation can be easily solved by Stimulating this point.
2) The Outer and Inner Gates Acupressure Points For Acidity
The inner gate is located on your hand, above your wrist (the distance between the outer gate and the wrist is around your three finger widths.)
Slowly apply pressure to this point and stimulate it to solve indigestion problems, nausea, and vomiting.
The outer gate is located opposite to the inner gate i.e., three finger widths from your wrist on the other side of your hand. Stimulation of Outer Gates solves problems like Nausea.

The middle cavity lies exactly between the belly button and the breastbone, on the middle line of the body. Stimulate it for curing indigestion.
5) Great Rushing
Just like Union Valley, this point is located between the index finger and thumb of your feet. Slowly apply pressure and stimulate it to relieve Nausea and stomach pain.
6) Three Yin Crossing
This is another point located on your lower body, three finger-widths above the ankle bone. Stimulating this point is a good way to cure problems related to the lower abdomen.
7) Grandfather-Grandson
The location of this point is just four finger widths away from your toe, on the inner side of your feet. Stimulate it to relieve digestion-related problems.
Are There Any Side Effects of Acupressure?
While Acupressure is an amazing and effective way to heal body problems, it should also be taken into account that there are many side effects of acupressure, if not done correctly.
Stimulate acupressure points for one minute; otherwise, problems like unconsciousness, fatigue, and headache can arise.
Applying too much pressure can also lead to bruising and soreness.
Incorrect stimulation might also result in the twitching of the muscles. To avoid these problems, take these points into account :
- Always sit in a relaxed and comfortable position while stimulating the acupressure points. If you feel uncomfortable and cannot do it by yourself, ask someone else to do it for you.
- The pressure should be deep, but not too much.
