This is a simple certificate issued to a student after he graduates from a school or college indicating that he used to be a part of that institute. The Educational Board issues the migration certificate only when the student is allowed to take admission into another institute. In other words, the certificate states that the Institution or board has no problem if you take admission in some other institute for your further studies.
How to Obtain Migration Certificate AP (Andhra Pradesh)?
For students who wish to migrate to other colleges or states for higher studies, they will need to have their certificate issued by BIEAP (Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh). Here are the steps to get a certificate from BIEAP:
- First, need to visit the official website of BIEAP which is bie.ap.gov.in
- Click on the tab named ‘Student’.
- You will see a link called Migration Certificate. Click on it.
- Then you have to enter your details like Hall Ticket Number, Email ID, and Date of Birth. Then click on the ‘Get Data’ button.
- Your all information is on the screen. Click on the ‘Submit and Pay’ tab. Make the payment.
- You will get an acknowledgment number. This number will help you to track the status of your certificate. You will get your certificate within 15days.
How to Obtain a CBSE Migration Certificate?
CBSE issues this Certificate within a month of result declaration, and the qualified students can collect their certificates from their respective schools.
You can also download your Certificate online by using Digilocker. The process is,
- Visit the website – digilocker.gov.in
- Create an account. If you have an existing account, log into it.
- Click on the Issued Documents tab.
- Click on Get More Issued Documents.
- In the search bar, you have to type – Migration Certificate.
- Click on Delhi, Class XII, or Class X tab according to your requirements.
- Now you just have to fill in your roll number and click on get document.
- You will obtain your Certificate. You can print it or use the soft copy when needed.
How to Get Migration Certificate Online?
Yes, you can get this certificate online. If the board is registered to Digi locker, you can obtain your certificate by using Digilocker. Otherwise, you will have to go to the official website of your board and apply for the Certificate as discussed in the BIEAP section of this article.
Write Application for Migration Certificate in English
If you want to apply for a certificate here is the format of the application which you must follow while writing. First of all, you need to write the address of the person to whom you are writing that application. For example:
The Dean,
Department name,
College/Board name,
Address.
Next, you need to write the subject of writing this application. Proceeding with the letter you need to write the application body. Write your details at the end of the application. And do not forget to attach the Xerox of the important documents with the application or else your request may get canceled. After all these procedures, you will finally get a certificate from your college or school which will have all your details like your name, guardian’s name, roll number, and school name written on it. This certificate declares that the board has no objection if the person joints any recognized college or institute in the future.

Application For Reissue of Migration Certificate
If you lose your old Certificate and want to issue a new one, you will have to fill out a form prescribed by the board you are studying in. For example, there is a form for re-issue of the Migration certificate prescribed by CBSE that can be downloaded from the CBSE official website. Ans: You can go directly to the board office and ask them for your migration certificate or your board may send it to your school and you can get it through them. Different educational boards have their procedure for issuing the certificate of the students. In some of the schools, you need to collect your 12th standard report card or certificate, character certificate, and school leaving certificate from the school’s office itself.
